July 11, 2026·Wono DET·7 min read

Introduction

Thirty days is the ideal time to prepare for the DET — long enough to significantly improve your score, but short enough to maintain high motivation. With the right plan, you can improve from 100 to 130+ in 30 days.

This plan is designed for 1–2 hours of practice per day, alternating between writing, speaking, vocabulary, and simulation.

Week 1: Foundation & Assessment (Days 1–7)

Goal: Understand the DET format, assess your baseline, and build vocabulary.

Day 1: Learn the DET Format

Activities (1 hour):

  • Study the DET structure: adaptive test, question types, duration
  • Watch official DET tutorial videos on YouTube
  • Understand the scoring system (10–160, 4 subscores, adaptive scoring)
  • Read the official guide from Duolingo

Outcome: You fully understand what to expect.

Day 2: Initial Assessment

Activities (1 hour):

  • Take a free DET practice test
  • Note your baseline score and subscores
  • Identify your 2 weakest areas

Target: Baseline score. Example: 105.

Activities (1.5 hours per day):
